Culture Night in celebration of diversity

Michael Cranny Elementary school

Michael Cranny Elementary school in Maple, Ont., recently hosted an event to celebrate the cultural diversity of its 550 students who have more than 50 countries in their ancestry, and more than 10 religions. Yummy Market proudly supported their silent auction by donating Yummy’s gift cards. All the students, their parents and guardians in attendance enjoyed live music, performances, a scavenger hunt for kids, a national costume show, a flag parade and other activities. And the best part? Thanks to $1,200 raised from the silent auction, the event was free to attend for every student’s family in the community.
